Home Transformation | Brooklyn, NY
This multi-phase project transformed a two bedroom duplex through a combination of interior decorating, professional organizing, and basement redesign to create a home that is functional, modern, and family friendly. The focus was on heavy decluttering, rethinking room layouts, maximizing storage, and converting the basement into two defined spaces: a cozy entertainment lounge and a dedicated play and homework zone.
All sourcing prioritized affordable, high quality finds and repurposed pieces to balance style with budget.
Design Direction
The aesthetic blended natural textures, modern silhouettes, and curated art to create a warm yet contemporary look. The color palette featured warm taupe, sable green, clay terracotta, soft cream, and matte black, with soft pinks and greys in the children’s spaces for a playful, youthful touch.
Styling elements included woven rattan textures, geometric neutral rugs, matte black framing, Afro centric artwork, cozy poufs, and layered textiles for comfort and visual depth.
